Take a tour of Glenwood Springs’ back country and see the sights in a military-approved form of transportation. Designed for the U.S. Army by General Motors, the vehicle known as a Hummvee or Hummer, a High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle, is heading for higher ground in Glenwood Springs. Though it was built to maneuver through the shifting desert landscape, it is ideally suited to Colorado’s rugged back country thanks to its ability to creep and crawl over steep rocky terrain. An experienced guide knows just where to go for the best photo ops, picnic spots and sunset views. See the area’s sights including views of Mt. Sopris, Maroon Bells, the Flat Tops in the White River National Forest, and the Eagle and Roaring Fork River Valleys.

Glenwood Adventure Company offers three Hummer tours: a three-hour excursion, a sunset dinner combination and a sunset tour. The company can also book custom tours for guests.
