You see them at night when you drive past a ski area: lights in the dark, impossibly high, maneuvering stealthily over difficult terrain and you wonder what it would be like to be up there, inside one of those winter-time, tank-treaded vehicles. Snowcats are the enormous machines that are used to groom ski slopes, but visitors to Glenwood Springs can now catch a ride in one to explore otherwise inaccessible areas of wilderness.

Snowcat tours last approximately 2.5 hours and depart daily at 10:00 a.m. during the winter season.
