Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park kicks off the popular Friday Afternoon Club on the Mountain summer series on June 15, with free tram rides, live music and food and drink specials from 5 – 8:30 p.m.
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (June 5, 2018) — When the weekend rolls around in the Roaring Fork Valley this summer, there’s no better place than the Lookout Grille at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park to kick back and enjoy a cold drink, listen to local musicians and enjoy the views. The park’s popular Friday Afternoon Club (FAC) on the Mountain returns with live music, and food and drink specials, from 5 – 8:30 p.m., on Fridays from June 15 through Aug. 10, 2018. The park’s FAC also includes a free tram ride with a coupon that appears in the Post Independent on Fridays. The coupon is valid for free rides up the mountain for up to four people starting at 4 p.m. The schedule is as follows.
Friday, June 15 – Painters Stage
The gypsy sound and reggae rhythm is the heartbeat of the Painters Stage trio of Noemi, Kristof and Max Kosmowski. They have been playing together for more than 25 years with same contagious pleasure and passion.
Friday, June 22 – The Logan Brothers
The Logan Brothers are a Glenwood Springs-based classic rock, folk rock, and modern rock cover band. Their characteristic sound comes from outstanding lead vocals, two-part harmony, guitar, melodic bass lines, drums and harmonica.
Friday, June 29 – Jill Cohn
Best known for diverse stylings and heart-string-tugging ballads intermingled with the humorous and quirky side of things, Jill Cohn’s recent recordings have gained new notoriety with her songs placed in popular TV shows.
Friday, July 6 – Charley Wagner
Charley Wagner is a singer and songwriter with a laidback, simple folk and Americana sound. Originally from northern Minnesota, he has quickly become a favorite with the FAC crowd.
Friday, July 13 – Feeding Giants
This local acoustic duo plays many different genres of music ranging from coffee house rock and classic country to blues and originals and is often compared to the Civil Wars.
Friday, July 20 – Leonard Curry Trio
The Leonard Curry Trio immerses their audiences in a musical blend of folk, swing, rock, bluegrass and Irish tunes. Their performances include some old favorites, some originals and some of the groups’ handpicked, finely crafted songs, with great vocals and tight arrangements.
Friday, July 27 – Stone Kitchen
Enjoy acoustic-favored Americana music, blues, bluegrass, country, folk and acoustic rock.
Friday, Aug 3 – Frank Martin
Frank Martin is one the valley’s favorite songwriters, singers and multi-instrumentalists. His vocals rise to gospel heights, and his guitar and mandolin playing cross genres with fire and finesse.
Friday, Aug 10 – Campbell and Campbell
Through extraordinary songwriting, soulful vocals and guitar mastery, Campbell and Campbell play Americana originals and covers from the likes of The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Loreena McKennitt, with a diverse range of styles and approaches including blues, rock, folk and Celtic.
